About Artificial Turf

With proper installation and basic maintenance, quality artificial turf typically lasts 15 to 20 years, even with Colorado's intense UV exposure and freeze-thaw cycles.

Yes. Our turf products are made from non-toxic materials and include antimicrobial properties. The surface stays cooler than concrete or asphalt and provides excellent traction for active play.

Artificial turf can warm up in direct sun, similar to other outdoor surfaces. We recommend choosing lighter blade colors and ensuring proper infill to manage surface temperature. Shaded areas and watering with a hose can quickly cool it down on hot days.

Many homeowners do DIY installs. We support both DIY customers and professional contractors. We can walk you through the materials you need for a successful install.

Colorado Climate

Very well. Our turf systems are specifically designed for Colorado's climate. The synthetic fibers won't freeze or become brittle, proper drainage prevents ice buildup, and you'll have a green lawn as soon as the snow melts.

Summit Turf products use UV-stabilized fibers that resist fading and degradation from Colorado's high-altitude sun exposure. Your turf will hold its color for years.

Yes. Our turf systems include a permeable backing that allows water to drain through quickly, preventing pooling and keeping the surface usable after rain or snowmelt.

Installation

Summit Turf Supply is a supply company. We partner with and support professional installers across Colorado. If you need an installer referral, ask us and we will point you in the right direction.

A proper base is critical for drainage and longevity. Typically this means removing existing grass, adding crushed aggregate base, compacting it, and installing a weed barrier. Your installer will guide you through the prep process.

A standard residential backyard can be completed in one to two days by an experienced installer. Larger commercial projects take longer depending on scope.

Maintenance

Artificial turf is low-maintenance by design. Periodically brush the fibers upright, rinse the surface to remove dust or debris, and remove leaves or organic material promptly to prevent buildup.

Solid waste should be removed promptly and the area rinsed with water. Liquid waste drains through the backing. For odor control, there are enzyme-based cleaners designed specifically for pet turf areas.

Most installations benefit from infill to support blade upright posture, improve cushioning, and stabilize the turf. Our team can recommend the right infill type for your specific product and application.
